ABOUT US

The concept of a microschool, essentially a "One room schoolhouse," highlights a tight-knit community that offers students the advantages of small class sizes and mixed-age groups. This philosophy fosters a collaborative environment where everyone works together to learn, support each other, assist one another, and promotes a positive learning experience for all children. As each child walks through the doors of Ahava, they are greeted with warmth, acceptance, and the unwavering belief that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. The heart of this approach is recognizing that children flourish when their essential needs, like love and connection, are met. By establishing a secure and nurturing environment, children are inspired to have confidence in their abilities. The school's name, Ahava, embodies this ethos, emphasizing the significance of love in the journey of education and childhood development.

HOW WE LEARN

Creating a school within a garden setting offers a unique environment that nurtures child-led independence and fosters individuality. By integrating nature into the learning space, children have the opportunity to explore and engage with their surroundings, encouraging curiosity and a sense of wonder. This inspires a sense of responsibility and independence as children learn to care for the plants and animals in their environment, fostering a connection to the natural world around them.

At Ahava, children are encouraged to take the lead in their learning, allowing them to pursue their interests and develop their strengths at their own pace. This child-led approach promotes autonomy and self-confidence, empowering children to make choices and take ownership of their education. By supporting individuality and celebrating each others differences, we create a welcoming and supportive community where each child is valued for their unique talents and perspectives.

HOW TO APPLY

At Ahava, we value nurturing connections and ensure that every student is well matched within our community. To kickstart the enrollment process, we encourage you to schedule a tour of our school. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to explore our campus, meet our dedicated staff, and get a firsthand look at our unique approach to education.

Following the tour, we invite you to participate in our in-person visiting week. This allows your child to experience a taste of life at Ahava, interact with current students, and engage in nature-based activities. We believe that this personalized approach to enrollment helps us create a community where every student feels welcomed, supported, and valued.
